Mini MAAC Response to Facebook Post 

The video circulating on Facebook is disturbing and unfortunate. The paragraph accompanying the video would be equally disturbing, if it were true. Here are the facts regarding this situation:

• This video was brought to the attention of the owner and director at Mini MAAC and immediate action was taken. Mini MAAC has zero tolerance for this type of behavior and adheres to the Texas Childcare Licensing Minimum Standards. Therefore, the caregiver heard in the video was removed from the classroom and ultimately is no longer employed at the Mini MAAC.
  

• The child being disciplined in the video was the child of the caregiver in question. For that reason, you hear the child saying “mommy, mommy.” This fact in no way excuses the caregiver's behavior. And her behavior was dealt with promptly.
  

• This situation has been reviewed by Child Care Licensing of Texas in early February. Child Care Licensing has determined all necessary steps were taken by Mini MAAC to ensure the safety and proper care of all children in attendance. 
  

These are the facts regarding the post accompanying the video:

• The child heard on the video is NOT the child of the person writing the post and circulating the video.
  

• The writer states, “my son was kicked out because he was ‘too bad.’” The child was terminated from care due to his repeated infractions of the Mini MAAC’s Student Code of Conduct.
  

The MAAC has been in the business of caring for children for 19 years. Mini MAAC was opened as a result of overwhelming requests from parents. We take pride in the quality of care given to all students. It is unfortunate that these events have taken place. But rest assured, Mini MAAC, Master Lister and ALL the staff and employees strive to provide a safe, caring, and educational atmosphere for children in care.
